Meet the Doctors: Jason Mouzakes, MD

Jason Mouzakes, MD

Dr. Mouzakes can certainly be considered a Capital Region product. Although born and raised on Long Island, NY, most of his formative education took place in the Albany region. After completing the accelerated medical education program of Union College and Albany Medical College as a Phi Beta Kappa scholar, Dr. Mouzakes remained at Albany Medical Center as an Intern in General Surgery and Resident in Otolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery. It was during his residency training under Drs. Koltai and Perkins that his interest in Pediatric Otolaryngology developed. Dr. Mouzakes then successfully completed a Fellowship at the world-renowned Children's Hospital of Seattle, Washington. Returning to the area in 2001, he is currently the region's only fellowship-trained Pediatric Otolaryngologist.

His clinical interests include airway reconstruction and pediatric hearing loss/cochlear implantation. Dr. Mouzakes enjoys the combination of clinical care challenges with scholarly pursuits and has contributed multiple articles and book chapters to the medical literature.
